Position Summary
The Steam Turbine Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of steam turbine repair, retrofit, and installation projects for industrial and power generation customers. This role ensures projects meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements while maintaining strong customer relationships. The Steam Turbine Project Manager coordinates cross-functional teams including engineering, field services, fabrication, procurement, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality service aligned with ProcessBarron operational and safety standards.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Project Planning and Management
- Lead end-to-end management of steam turbine projects from kickoff through final commissioning.
- Develop detailed project schedules, work plans, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate internal teams including engineering, field service, machining, fabrication, and logistics to ensure on-time project execution.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
Technical Oversight
- Review turbine inspection reports, engineering drawings, repair scopes, and quality documentation.
Customer and Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide professional updates on scope, schedule, and deliverables while managing customer expectations.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for specialty machining, nondestructive examination, balancing, coatings, and component manufacturing.
- Build long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities for future work.
Cost Control and Documentation
- Track project costs, labor hours, material usage, and change orders.
- Prepare progress reports, invoicing documentation, and final project closeout packages.
- Ensure all field reports, quality documentation, measurements, tooling records, and inspection data are complete and accurate.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all onsite work follows ProcessBarron safety policies and applicable OSHA standards.
- Support pre-job safety planning, job hazard analyses, and incident reporting.
- Promote a strong safety culture among field crews and contractors.

Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of steam turbine components including blades, diaphragms, rotors, bearings, seals, casings, and valves.
- Understanding of turbine clearances, tolerances, machining practices, balancing, and nondestructive examination techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, scope documents, and engineering manuals.
- Strong project scheduling skills using Microsoft Project or equivalent tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.

Experience: 5 years of experience with industrial or utility steam turbines, including maintenance, overhaul, upgrade, or project management.
Field experience with turbine inspections, alignments, disassembly/assembly, vibration analysis, or outage management strongly preferred.
Experience managing multi disciplinary teams and subcontractors
