The Plastic Weld position is part of the Production Team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and repairing plastic components using various techniques and tools. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products while adhering to safety standards. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):
- Perform plastic welding using techniques such as hot air welding, extrusion welding, and laser welding.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding methods.
- Inspect welded seams and products for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain and calibrate welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Train and mentor junior welders as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in welding or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a plastic welder or similar role.
- Strong understanding of plastic materials and welding techniques.
- Proficient in using welding equipment and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, noise).
