Inventory Analysis & Optimization
- Conduct deep-dive analyses of inventory data to identify trends, root causes of variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate demand forecasts, lead times, and order quantities to support right-sized inventory levels and prevent both shortages and overstock situations.
- Process Design & Improvement
- Map and evaluate existing inventory control processes end-to-end; identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities.
- Design and implement improved workflows, controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent execution and data accuracy.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to reduce process waste and improve efficiency.
- Partner with IT to optimize ERP/WMS configurations, ensuring accurate inventory transactions and integration across departments.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity across all inventory systems (ERP, WMS, MRP)
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to implement system enhancements and test new functionalities.
- Create automated reporting tools and exception-based alerts to proactively monitor inventory health and compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for inventory control processes and systems.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, production, logistics, finance, and quality assurance teams to ensure accurate alignment of inventory strategy with business objectives.
- Support financial reconciliation and physical inventory counts, ensuring discrepancies are identified, analyzed, and resolved.
- Develop and present detailed reports and insights to leadership on inventory health, cost reduction opportunities, and operational performance.
- Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
