Key Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate and test AC/DC, AC/AC, and DC/DC power converters, electronic loads and other power electronic systems in the 100 W to 300 kW range and 3V to 10kV voltage range.
  • Develop and implement control loops and regulation strategies using both analog and digital control (DSP/MCU-based).
  • Design unipolar, bipolar, and bidirectional (4-quadrant) power stages using linear and switching topologies.
  • Power Supply Design & Development: Design and develop electronics circuits including Design Analysis, Schematic Capture and PCB design. Researches, develops, design, directs fabrication and testing of power supplies, special assemblies and loads.
  • Benchmark Breadboard & Testing: Perform benchmark on similar designs, build and troubleshoot breadboard concept and prototype. Record, analyze, and interpret test data, making necessary product modifications and conducting retests.
  • Design Validation & Testing: Generate test plan and fixture. Produce test procedures and help with providing specifications for design and validation /verification reports
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Collaborate with firmware and embedded engineers to drive innovation for analog electrical design integrated DSP/MCU digital control systems. SMPS and latest materials innovation (Sic, Gan) in SMPS/PS.
  • Technology Roadmap Contribution: Create Analog electrical design solutions and technical support to a variety of novel and complex projects throughout life cycle stages.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define the best power supply topology, resolve technical issues that arise in the supply chain.
  • Design Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and test procedures, writing reports, give design review preparation and presentations.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g., UL, CE, ISO), EMI/EMC or Mil-Std requirement.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in power electronics design and validation.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in designing analog circuits and familiarity with digital electronics applied to power supplies control, hot-swap circuitry, and PDN design.
  • Experience with low voltage and high current power subsystems using DSP (e.g., MCU, SoC, ASIC, FPGA).
  • Thorough understanding of power conversion principles (rectification, inversion, regulation, etc.) and basic converter topologies (buck, boost, fly back, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience designing power electronics or power supply design and its associated topologies preferred. Knowledge of operational, instrumentation and power amplifiers.
  • Hands-on experience (design verification, troubleshooting and bench work)
  • The position requires technical skills, interpersonal skills, and personal initiative, ability to multitask, energy and enthusiasm, passion for analog electronics

Tools & Simulation:
