We’re adding a Steel Detailing Technician who will own the creation of precise shop and fabrication drawings and ensure our steel packages are delivered accurately and on time.
Role highlights
- Create comprehensive shop and fabrication drawings for structural steel.
- Translate architectural/engineering drawings into accurate detailing.
- Build and edit CAD models and drawing sets (AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar).
- Partner with engineers and project managers to confirm compliance with specs.
- Coordinate with fabrication teams to resolve production-related design questions.
- Keep meticulous records of revisions, versions, and approvals.
- Join project meetings and report on detailing progress.
- Proven background as a Structural Steel Detailer or equivalent.
- Hands-on proficiency in CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, or comparable).
- Working knowledge of structural steel design and fabrication workflows.
- High attention to detail and comfort working to tight timelines.
- Clear communicator and collaborative teammate.
- Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with applicable steel detailing standards and codes.
- Blueprint reading
