THE OPPORTUNITY
Proceanic is seeking a Commercial Lead – Business Development to drive global revenue growth and strengthen the company’s market presence. This individual will play a central role in expanding client relationships, originating new opportunities, and managing the full sales lifecycle for complex technical service contracts.
The role is ideally suited for a commercially driven professional with established industry relationships or a demonstrated ability to originate new business within offshore energy, subsea, marine, or related technical service sectors. The successful candidate will combine strategic business development capabilities with end-to-end sales execution, independently sourcing opportunities, developing and managing a qualified pipeline, leading proposals and follow-ups, and coordinating closely with operations and engineering teams to secure contract awards.
This position blends the strategic orientation of a senior business developer with the practical execution of a “player-coach.” The successful candidate will thrive in a merit-based, high-trust environment and will be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the company’s continued growth. This role offers significant visibility with executive leadership and the ability to influence commercial priorities while representing a globally recognized leader in ROV-based inspection services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
- Identify, pursue, secure service contracts with offshore operators, drilling contractors & other critical asset owners
- Develop and execute account strategies to expand market share
- Build and maintain senior-level client relationships
Sales Execution
- Manage the full sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract award
- Lead proposal development in collaboration with engineering and operations teams
- Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting information using CRM tools
Market Representation
- Represent Proceanic at industry conferences and client engagements
- Capture and communicate customer needs and industry trends to inform commercial strategy
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure technical and commercial alignment
- Support marketing initiatives and brand positioning efforts
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 7–12 years of business development/sales experience within offshore energy, subsea, marine, or related technical industries
- Demonstrated success in originating and closing complex, consultative service contracts
- Proven ability to manage the full sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through proposal development and contract award
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage senior decision-makers and influence buying decisions
- Self-directed/Results-oriented, with ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, high-trust environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required
Preferred
- Experience with subsea inspection, ROV-based services, TICC environments
- Existing professional network across offshore operators, drilling contractors, EPCs, or classification societies
- Engineering or other technical background enabling effective engagement with technical stakeholders
Familiarity with CRM systems, data-driven sales and pipeline management processes
