ASL Interpreter | Austin, Minnesota

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time, on-site position is seeking an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to support an 11th-grade student during the 2022–2023 school year in Austin, Minnesota. The role offers an opportunity to work closely with one student in a 1:1 setting, interpreting all classes and fostering effective communication throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for all academic classes attended by the student
• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers to ensure full access to the curriculum
• Collaborate with educational staff to support the student's individual learning needs
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Educational Interpreting
• Valid certification such as EIPA, RID, or NID is required
• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred
• Strong understanding of deaf culture and communication techniques

• On-site work based in Austin, Minnesota
