Social Worker in Burbank, IL

A therapeutic center in Burbank, IL, is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to provide full-time support for students within their Autism programs. This role focuses on assisting students with lower cognitive and intellectual abilities, including some who are nonverbal. The position is initially available for the remainder of the school year with the potential to extend into the next school year, as the center plans to expand its social work team to meet growing program demands.

Location: Burbank, Illinois
Type: Contract, Full-Time
Hours: 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Deliver social work services tailored to students with Autism and related developmental challenges
• Support students’ emotional, social, and behavioral needs in alignment with therapeutic goals
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement individualized support plans
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with licensing requirements
• Participate in meetings and case discussions to ensure holistic care for students

Qualifications:

• Valid Social Worker license or certification with appropriate Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and with cognitive/intellectual disabilities
• Strong skills in behavioral intervention and support for nonverbal students
• Ability to work within a therapeutic educational setting
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
