This position focuses on serving students in grades 2–6 who have a range of unique learning needs, with a caseload of approximately 20–24 students. You’ll collaborate with an engaged team, deliver tailored instruction, and take an active role in fostering each child's educational growth.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the state or eligibility to obtain
- Experience working with students with Specific Learning Disabilities, Speech/Language Impairments, and Other Health Impairments
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and related legal compliance
- Ability to differentiate instruction in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning
- Familiarity with collaborative teaching and participation in PLCs (Professional Learning Communities)
- Effective communication skills to work with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specially designed instruction according to each student’s IEP, providing support in academics and executive functioning
- Case manage students and lead IEP meetings, with support from the LEA
- Maintain accurate, timely special education documentation
- Participate actively in grade-level PLCs and collaborative planning meetings
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented professional culture
Position Details:
- Contract runs August 21, 2026 – June 14, 2027
- 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM–2:35 PM
- Participate in PLC and team meetings, typically on Tuesdays and sometimes Wednesdays
- Grade level assignment is flexible based on skills and preference
