An exciting opportunity awaits for a Special Education Teacher passionate about supporting students in a Social Emotional Behavior classroom for grades 3–5. This full-time, in-person contract position is located near Hartford, CT, and offers a chance to make a meaningful impact during the school year. The assignment runs from May 2026 through October 2026 (excluding summer months), with hours from 8:20 AM to 3:40 PM, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with students with behavioral and social-emotional needs, ideally in grades 3–5
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans to meet diverse learner needs in a small-group, self-contained setting
- Implement behavior management strategies to foster a supportive and structured classroom environment
- Collect data and monitor student progress toward IEP goals
- Work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic student growth
- Provide a positive and encouraging educational experience, promoting students’ social-emotional and academic development
- Maintain required records and participate in meetings as necessary
