Take on a dynamic, contract opportunity as a Behavioral Specialist supporting K-12 students across multiple districts near Emporia, KS. In this pivotal role, you’ll be a key resource for students with behavioral and social-emotional needs, helping to guide interventions and foster positive outcomes. This onsite, itinerant assignment spans from August 19, 2026 to May 20, 2027, with a 35-hour work week.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
- Current Kansas State Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
- Experience with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Demonstrated skill in supporting students’ behavioral and social-emotional growth
- Strong background in school-based behavioral support—Behavior Specialist, BCBA, or equivalent highly valued
- Preferred: Credentials in school psychology, social work, or school counseling
- Proven ability to collaborate with school teams, parents, and staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct FBAs and develop/implement effective BIPs
- Deliver research-based, data-driven behavioral interventions
- Offer coaching and training for staff in best practices for student behavior support
- Provide crisis intervention assistance as needed
- Consistently collaborate with educators and families to ensure comprehensive support
- Travel between sites to assist students and school staff within assigned districts
