In this full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year, you’ll work with a self-contained elementary caseload, making a positive impact on children’s lives by fostering academic achievement and social development close to Warwick, RI. Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably within a self-contained classroom
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong collaboration skills for working with parents, staff, and related service providers
- Ability to create an inclusive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and adaptability
Key Responsibilities:
- Adapt and deliver lesson plans tailored to each student’s individualized needs and learning styles
- Manage and oversee a classroom of K–2 students, providing academic and behavioral support
- Develop and track student IEPs, maintaining accurate documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including therapists and aides—to ensure each student’s goals are met
- Engage in ongoing parent communication to share progress and address concerns
- Foster a nurturing, positive learning atmosphere where all students are empowered to succeed
