Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for a K-6 elementary school serving approximately 180 students. This contract position, located in Richfield, MN, requires a dedicated professional to work within self-contained, multi-disability classrooms. The assignment begins ASAP and continues through June 5, with a 37.5-hour workweek.

Responsibilities include managing a caseload of 7-8 students primarily classified in settings 2 and 3, supporting students with cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, and autism. This role requires creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs, collaborating with general education staff, and maintaining a calm, structured classroom environment. The school environment is known for being very quiet with minimal behavioral challenges, allowing a focused and supportive teaching atmosphere.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Special Education teaching certification
Experience working with K-6 students in self-contained special education settings
Skilled in addressing the needs of students with cognitive, learning disabilities, and autism
Ability to develop and execute effective IEPs
Strong classroom management and communication skills
