Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with grades 7-12 preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, and families
- Organized, proactive, and able to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive educational atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Create engaging lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique strengths and challenges
- Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with two paraprofessionals to ensure student success
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and school staff regarding student progress
- Foster a safe, respectful, and dynamic classroom environment that encourages growth and independence
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations
