This position is for a Special Education Teacher to support students in a middle school resource setting. The role is onsite in Danbury, CT, and is a contract assignment expected to run from ASAP through May 22, 2026. This position involves working approximately 30 to 32.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with disabilities within the middle school resource environment
Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to support individualized education programs (IEPs)
Monitor and document student progress, providing assessments and reports as required
Implement behavior plans and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut Educator Certification with a Special Education endorsement is required
Experience working in a special education setting, preferably within middle school grade levels
Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents
Ability to manage a caseload and provide meaningful supports to a diverse student population
