Embark on a rewarding contract position supporting young learners in an intensive preschool classroom setting. This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week) is located on-site in Thornton, CO, and focuses on providing speech-language services and impactful interventions for early learners. You’ll work directly with a single school assignment—Riverdale Elementary—offering you the ability to form strong relationships with students and staff while guiding preschool students toward essential communication and developmental milestones.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist licensure and a valid Colorado Department of Education Certificate required
- Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but well-qualified Clinical Fellow (CF) candidates will be considered
- Background in school-based speech therapy, particularly with preschool-aged children, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with the IEP process, including assessments, service delivery, and documentation requirements
- Experience or training in working with English Language Learners (ELL) and/or a Linguistically Diverse Education (LDE) endorsement is strongly preferred
- Ability to oversee, mentor, or assist in the supervision of SLPAs as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy and assessment services for an intensive preschool classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), including setting and measuring student goals
- Monitor student progress and maintain thorough records of interventions and outcomes
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other specialists to support optimal student growth
- Provide guidance or supervision to SLPAs if applicable
