Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school district in the Huntsville, AL area is seeking two skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support students during the 2025-2026 academic year. These full-time contract positions offer the opportunity to work directly onsite in an educational setting, assisting students at the middle and elementary school levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation services to facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff.
• Support the educational needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classroom settings.
• Collaborate with educators and support personnel to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with district policies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school environment.
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture.
• Ability to work onsite full-time, approximately 35 hours per week.
• Flexibility to work at either middle school or elementary school locations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
