Sign Language Interpreter in Austin, MN

Make a real difference in a student's educational journey as a dedicated full-time Sign Language Interpreter for the 2022-2023 school year. This contract opportunity offers you the rewarding experience of working 1:1 with an 11th grader, supporting their success in all classes. Located near Austin, MN, this onsite role allows you to make a positive impact while collaborating with a passionate team of educators.

In this position, you’ll leverage your interpreting skills to foster clear communication, ensuring the student’s full participation and access to curriculum and school activities. Each day offers fresh challenges and learning experiences in a supportive, student-centered environment.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in ASL or Education Interpreting
• Current EIPA, RID, or NID certification required
• Experience working with school-aged students, especially in a 1:1 setting, is highly valued
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for an 11th grade student across all classes and educational settings
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure optimal accommodations and support for the student
• Maintain accurate records of daily interpreting activities and student progress
• Foster an inclusive learning atmosphere and act as a positive role model
• Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and sensitivity at all times

Enjoy the stability of a full-time schedule (over 35 hours per week) for the entire school year, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 2023.
