Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Gig Harbor, WA

Full-Time | 1:1 Transition Student Support | NSY

Position Summary:

Location:Gig Harbor, WA
Schedule:Full-Time - 25/26 School Year

The SLI will:

Interpret all staff directions and peer interactions using American Sign Language (ASL)
Help expand ASL vocabulary and increase communication comprehension
Support collaboration with behavior and academic support teams

The student is supported by multiple service providers, including behavior specialists and paraprofessionals. The SLI will be a key figure in ensuring access and engagement for the student in her daily activities.

Requirements:

Minimum EIPA Score: 4.0 (Performance) and Passing Written Test Required
Proficient in ASL, educational interpreting, and working in team environments
Experience supporting students with neurological conditions or behavioral challenges is highly preferred
