Step into a dynamic opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist for the 2025/2026 academic year, supporting students in a welcoming district near Silverdale, WA. This contract position offers a chance to make a tangible impact in either two schools—an elementary and a middle school—or a combination of two smaller elementary schools and one middle school.
You’ll manage a diverse caseload that currently stands in the mid-50s and may reach up to 60, though actual workload is thoughtfully balanced. In middle schools, therapy sessions often occur one or two times a month, allowing you to allocate your expertise thoughtfully and efficiently across your assignments. You’ll also benefit from a minimum of 1.5 days per week with COTA support, giving you collaborative resources and time to strategize for student success. The schedule follows a standard 37.5-hour workweek.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state of Washington
- Previous experience working with K-8 students preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with school staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Adaptability and a student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized therapy plans for students
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in an educational setting
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain clear records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student achievement
- Provide supervision and guidance to COTA support staff
