ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract position in Kenosha, Wisconsin, for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity offers the chance to join a supportive district and provide occupational therapy services primarily to elementary-aged students while collaborating with a strong team of educators and related service professionals. The selected OT will have the support of two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and the potential for contract renewal based on performance and district needs. Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy evaluations, assessments, and direct therapy services for students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs and educational goals.
  • Support students with fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, executive functioning, and functional school-related activities.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 35-45 students, primarily elementary-aged.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, families, and related service providers.
  • Supervise and collaborate with two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and service records.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Active Wisconsin Occupational Therapist license required.
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification required.
  • Master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • School-based experience preferred.
  • Licensing assistance available for qualified candidates.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Experience supporting elementary-aged students is highly beneficial.
  • Experience collaborating with COTAs and multidisciplinary teams preferred.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, evaluations, and educational documentation is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to support and collaborate with therapy assistants.
  • Strong understanding of occupational therapy practices within an educational setting.
  • Student-centered approach with a commitment to helping students achieve independence and success.

Industry: Education

Education:

  • Master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • NBCOT certification required.

Work Hours:
Full-time schedule based on district hours for the 2026-2027 school year.

2026-2027 School Year

Caseload:
Approximately 35-45 students, primarily elementary-aged.

Support Provided:
Two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) available to assist with student services.

Contract Renewal:
