Make a real difference in students’ lives as a part-time Physical Therapist supporting a welcoming district near Westfield, MA. This contract position offers the chance to provide essential services to a diverse caseload of 11-15 students across two buildings, working collaboratively with dedicated educators and families.
Enjoy the flexibility to choose any three days per week, with a commitment of up to 18 hours weekly. You’ll deliver comprehensive physical therapy interventions on A, B, and C grids, impacting students’ access to learning and participation in their school communities. This is a district-wide role with the potential to extend throughout the year for the right candidate, enabling you to build strong, ongoing relationships with staff and students.
Ideal Candidate Has:
- Licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in Massachusetts
- Prior experience in a school setting or working with pediatric populations
- Knowledge of special education processes and delivery of IEP-based services
- Ability to manage a small caseload independently across multiple locations
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and staff
- Able to provide physical therapy services without PTA supervision
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ motor needs and develop effective treatment plans
- Implement direct and consultative physical therapy services in accordance with IEPs
- Document progress, prepare reports, and attend team meetings as needed
- Work efficiently across two buildings while fostering a supportive environment for all students served
- Coordinate with teachers, support staff, and district administration to optimize student access
