Step into a vital role supporting students in a dynamic school setting as a Licensed Practical Nurse. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a significant impact by providing 1:1 care to an elementary student throughout the academic year. The position is full-time, with approximately 35 hours per week, and will require you to be on-site, as well as accompanying the student on their daily bus ride to and from the pickup location in Ft. Pierce.
Your clinical expertise in trach suctioning, tube feeding, oxygen monitoring, and toileting will be crucial in ensuring the student’s safety and well-being during school hours and transportation. With only one school assignment, you’ll be able to focus your attention and develop a meaningful connection with the student you support.
Qualifications:
- Active state LPN or LVN license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Previous experience with pediatric trach care, tube feeding, and student support (strongly preferred)
- Comfortable with bus transportation and flexible to support a student across settings
- Professional, compassionate, and able to confidently interact with students, families, and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on, individualized nursing care during classroom instruction and transit
- Monitor and address healthcare needs, responding quickly to medical concerns
- Communicate observations and coordinate with the broader educational and healthcare team
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with school and district guidelines
