Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Oroville, California

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Valid SLI Certification required
• EIPA Score required
• Experience providing sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting in educational settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, teachers, and staff
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication between hard of hearing or deaf students, their classmates, and school staff using American Sign Language (ASL)
• Deliver accurate interpreting both in classroom instruction and during community or extracurricular activities
• Assist students academically in reading, writing, math, and support life or vocational skills development
• Monitor and support students throughout various school settings including classrooms and outdoor activities
• Adapt communication strategies as needed for age and learning levels

Enjoy consistent hours with 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and compensation starting at $40 an hour, reflecting your EIPA score and experience.
