In this full-time contract position, you will provide essential communication access across educational environments, working directly with students, teachers, and staff. Four talented interpreters are needed to make an impact in Rosenburg and Douglas, bringing expertise and dedication to classrooms and campus activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Sign Language Interpreter Certification/Licensure required
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and able to adapt language level for varied age groups (K-12)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit
- Flexible and responsive to the changing needs of a diverse student population
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, educators, and staff
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, school events, and extracurricular activities
- Work closely with the educational team to ensure equal access and participation for students
- Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Travel between multiple sites within Rosenburg and Douglas as needed
This onsite-only assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027, offering a predictable schedule throughout the academic year.
