With a small caseload of just 4 students, this position offers an excellent opportunity to provide individualized support and build meaningful relationships with students and staff. What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Valid Louisiana Special Education teaching certification or eligibility for certification
- Ability to work full-time in an early childhood/Pre-K setting
- Experience working with young children with special needs preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Compassionate and student-focused approach to supporting diverse learning needs
- Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and specialized support to Head Start and Pre-K students with special needs
- Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies based on individual student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and school staff
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records
- Communicate effectively with families and caregivers regarding student development and progress
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young students
