What are the responsibilities and job description for the Photo Lab Technician position at PROCAM Photo & Video?
Overview
MUST HAVE LAB EXPERIENCE
Love photography? Curious about what happens after the shutter clicks?
If you're interested in film, printing, technology, and helping people turn their memories into something tangible, we'd love to meet you.
PROCAM Chicago/Aurora is looking for an energetic, organized, tech-savvy Imaging & Film Lab Specialist to join our customer-focused team.
You don't need to know everything about running a photo lab on day one. Experience with film processing, photography, printing, or imaging is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person. If you're mechanically inclined, comfortable with technology, enjoy troubleshooting, and like learning how things work, you may be a great fit.
What You'll Do
You'll work hands-on with both traditional photography and modern digital imaging, including:
- Introduce customers to PROCAM's imaging, printing, and archival services
- Help customers preserve, archive, print, and share their photographs and memories
- Develop color and black & white film
- Scan film, negatives, slides, and photographs
- Produce photographic prints and other in-house imaging services
- Assist customers with our in-store and online ordering systems
- Operate and maintain professional film processing and imaging equipment
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and quality-focused production environment
- Troubleshoot equipment, computers, and workflow issues
- Take and print passport photos
We're Looking for Someone Who Is
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable working with customers
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable with computers and technology
- Mechanically inclined and willing to troubleshoot
- Able to work independently while also being part of a team
- Interested in photography, film, printing, or visual storytelling
- Focused on quality and willing to learn
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Has weekend and evening availability
Previous photo lab, film processing, photography, or printing experience is a plus, but curiosity, mechanical aptitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn are just as important.
