Position Summary
The UI/UX Designer will craft intuitive, visually engaging, and user-centered interfaces for web applications. This role combines creativity, analytical thinking, and user empathy to deliver experiences that are both functional and aesthetically appealing. The designer will translate business concepts into polished designs, wireframes, and interactive prototypes that enhance usability, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction.
This position requires strong communication skills, hands-on proficiency with modern design tools, and the ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum environments alongside developers, product owners, and business analysts.
Key Responsibilities
- Create visually compelling and user-friendly interface designs for web applications.
- Collaborate with BI developers to design effective, engaging dashboards and reports.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
- Conduct user research and usability testing, incorporating findings into iterative design improvements.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG and Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Build and maintain design systems, style guides, and reusable UI components for consistent user experiences.
- Partner with developers, product owners, and business analysts to translate requirements into intuitive design solutions.
- Advocate for user needs during all phases of design and development.
- Present design concepts and rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Mentor team members on design best practices and user-centered design principles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4 years of professional UI/UX design experience for web or digital products.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design, responsive layouts, and accessibility best practices.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Photoshop, or similar design tools.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
- Knowledge of WCAG and Section 508 accessibility standards and tools.
- Familiarity with design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience synthesizing user research findings into actionable design recommendations.
- Proficiency with accessibility testing tools and methodologies.
- Ability to translate design concepts into responsive, accessible front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Exposure to ASP.NET MVC, Razor, and/or Blazor development environments.
