- Receives and reviews job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Retrieves and receives dies, inks, materials, plates, etc. and sets up press.
- Secures approvals before running job and then solves problems to ensure quality is excellent.
- Maintains inks, colors, and registration to ensure quality meets specifications.
- Cleans plates, cylinder, dye fonts, and lubricates press as needed.
- Responsible to operate press in a safe manner and produce quality product with minimal scrap, meet production schedules and keep work area clean.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all certification requirements (AIB, ISO)
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines. Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements.
- Must be able to identify and understand customer requirements.
- Operates a printing press producing flexible packaging
- Set up the press to produce a product to the specifications described in the production job jacket, including formulations and color shading of inks.
- Track and record production, waste, and material usage.
- Hazardous waste handling
- Operate printing press.
- Ensure print design conforms to job jacket information.
- Responsible for print sample retention.
- Notifies Supervisor/Lead Person or Quality Assurance Technician of non-conformities.
- Responsible for proper packaging and labeling of work in-process and/or finished product.
- Ensure raw materials have been approved for use.
- Ensure all bench top test and measuring equipment being used are properly calibrated.
- Identification and control of Non-conforming material.
- Set-up and Clean-up machine.
- Follow all applicable instructions relative to food safety and the SQF Food Safety Management System, including Employee GMP's.
- Report food safety problems to personnel with the authority to initiate actions.
- Participate on related teams as requested and required.
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned.
