We are seeking a motivated Project Manager to oversee the design and construction of turnkey Baggage Handling System (BHS) projects at airports across the United States.
This role will manage all aspects of project delivery—from planning and scheduling through execution and closeout—while ensuring alignment with company objectives, performance targets, and customer expectations.
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, this position is ideal for an individual with hands-on experience in project planning and control who is looking to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fulfill all contractual obligations and ensure adherence to project constraints.
- Operate in accordance with company policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align technical, commercial, and operational objectives.
- Achieve defined financial and performance targets, including Economic Value Added (EVA).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project data in company information systems.
- Monitor and control project progress, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, reporting updates to the company’s Risk Management Authority.
- Manage project scope changes in accordance with contractual and internal processes.
- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 (mandatory) and other planning tools.
- Manage and evaluate subcontractors to ensure compliance with cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment, including safety analyses, rigging plans, environmental risk assessments, and regular site audits.
- Oversee the QA/QC process to ensure project deliverables meet required standards.
- Create, prioritize, and manage the project action item list.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and punch lists.
- Prepare and distribute detailed periodic project progress reports.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) or construction project management, preferably within airport construction.
- Proven experience in planning, scheduling, and controlling complex projects using Primavera P6 (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of project planning principles, including critical path method (CPM), resource allocation, earned value analysis, and schedule risk management.
- Experience with budget management, cost control, and financial performance tracking.
- Solid knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management, quality control, and contract administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience working under FAA, TSA, or airport authority regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple contractors.
