Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed history-taking across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions by developing personalized treatment plans utilizing advanced clinical knowledge in areas such as critical care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
- Administer medications and injections with precision, including IV infusions, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and other esthetic laser procedures.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, tube feeding management, and venipuncture while maintaining sterile technique.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records management.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in areas including gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and occupational health to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance evidence-based practices within the organization.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice independently in the relevant state or region.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as emergency rooms, intensive care units (ICU), level I & II trauma centers, or hospital medicine units.
- Strong proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; experience with medical coding including CPT, ICD-9/10 is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Hands-on experience administering injections, performing suturing, managing ventilators or mechanical airway devices is preferred.
- Critical care experience including ICU or PICU settings; familiarity with ventilator management and acute pain management protocols is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in telehealth environments utilizing telemedicine platforms for remote patient assessments.
- Excellent communication skills for triage duties and patient education; ability to work with diverse populations including pediatrics, seniors in assisted living or memory care facilities, and individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality; experience working within compliance standards such as NCQA standards is a plus.
