What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pro Volleyball Federation Interested Coaches position at Pro Volleyball Federation?
Pro Volleyball Federation, the premier women's professional volleyball league in North America, is seeking full-time head coaches and assistants who will lead the inaugural direction and development of a professional women's volleyball team in the (locations TBD) market. The first women's professional volleyball league of its kind featuring world-class players and coaches playing a professional league schedule in professional arenas in North America.
The season will include: three (3) weeks of pre-season training camp, a 16-week game schedule, and a four-week playoff schedule. Match play will begin in February 2024. The remainder of the calendar year will include scouting prospective players and additional team responsibilities. The selected head coach will have 10 months to build their team and brand within its market with the help of the General Manager and team owner. This position will be hired by and report to the team owner and supervise team assistant(s).

April/May 2023 - Team owners hire coaches
June/July 2023 - Coaches evaluate players and complete draft
Duties
- Help identify and evaluate prospective players to attend combines
- Select competitive team roster in a draft format
- Strategic planning and design of training program to advance the skill set of athletes and team performance
- Engage in regular consultation with the athletic training, strength coaches and support staff to maximize the health and safety of the athletes
- Provide positive relationships & experiences for athletes and staff
- Participate in community service and outreach
- Have a strong working relationship and open communication with team owner and league personnel
- Participate in Pro Volleyball Federation promotional activities and promote a positive image of the Federation
- Engage in ethical decision-making and exemplary sportsmanship
- Follow all SafeSport standards
- Comply with all Pro Volleyball Federation policies and procedures
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of successful coaching experience
- Extensive, applied knowledge of volleyball and a detailed understanding of current and developing tactics, coaching methods, analytics, and training methods
- Knowledge of FIVB (Federation Internationale de Volleyball) rules
- Ability to obtain SafeSport Certification
- Maintain strong interpersonal and public relations skills to interact effectively and professionally across platforms
- Willing to work extended/non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- For those interested in being a head coach, previous head coaching experience is required
