Location :                                                     This position is located in the Westerville office

Travel :                                                         15-25% within Ohio

SUMMARY

The Manager, Coaches Education and Competition, will develop and implement educational curricula for coaches across the state, and manage date effectively. This position will support the planning and execution of large-scale sporting events and offer support to Regional Directors when necessary.

  • Develop and implement educational programs and seminars for coaches
  • Create training materials and resources to enhance coaches’ skills and knowledge
  • Work directly with existing sport directors to determine necessary learning outcomes
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain accurate records of athletes, events, training programs, and certification.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating large-scale sporting events, including logistics, scheduling, volunteer management, and day of operations
  • Ensure all events comply with Special Olympics Ohio standards and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery
  • Ensure data privacy and security in compliance with organizational policies
  • Monitor and implement SOOH approved sports, rules, policies and procedures

  • Preferred Education, Experience, & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Education or a related field
  • Strong sports background necessary, knowledge of sports coaching and training methodologies
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office product series and relevant sports database systems
  • Miscellaneous Information

  • Position is full-time, exempt
  • Days / hours of work - Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.
  • Evening / weekend work required as position demands, at times can be extensive
  • Independent in-state travel required, including independent overnight and weekend travel as an essential function of position
  • Required to maintain and provide proof of valid, current state driver’s license and automobile property and casualty insurance at all times.
