What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Technical Trainer - Electronics Manufacturing position at Pro-Tech Staffing Services?

Pro-Tech has been placing people into electronics manufacturing for thirty years. You will train individuals to ensure that they are safe, certified, and someone a client trusts on their floor.
We are ramping up quickly in a nearby facility are looking for another teammate that can take initiative and thrive in ambiguity. You'll decide how the training is run: if something in the material is wrong, you say so and we change it that week.
What you'll do
- Teach the curriculum - classroom sessions, then out on the floor where it becomes a part in someone's hand
- Track progress and maintain consistent communication with the client to ensure that technicians are performing to the required standard
- Demonstrate the work yourself: torque, connector seating, scanning, inspection, debug
- Proctor quarterly exams, keep the records clean, and run retake reviews with anyone who didn't pass
- Spend time at the client site, not just in a training room
What you'll be teaching
- Foundations — boards, components, the SMT line, ESD, IPC-A-610, visual aids and revision control
- Build and integration — box build, press fit, RTV, Hi-Pot, torque, cable routing, FIFO and Kanban
- Inspection and quality — defect vocabulary, first article, sampling, AOI, defect data and Pareto
- Test and diagnostics — opens and shorts, ICT, boundary scan, multimeter work, structured debug
What we're looking for
- At least 2-3 years hands-on in electronics manufacturing, with time in assembly, quality inspection, test and diagnostics, or stockroom and materials.
- You're comfortable in front of a room and on a production floor. Some of the people you teach will have engineering degrees. Some will be on their first manufacturing job. Same week, same material.
- IPC-A-610 certification helps. CIT helps more. Neither is required.

NICE TO HAVE, NOT REQUIRED
- IPC Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) in IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001
- J-STD-001 certification
- Data center or server hardware — rack integration, liquid cooling, server build or test
- SAP or another ERP, hands-on — RF scanning, goods movements, cycle counts
- Test background — in-circuit test, boundary scan, functional test, component-level debug
- You have trained, onboarded, led or mentored before — formally or not
- Bilingual English and Spanish

Compensation
$26–$28/hour, based on certification and experience. Full benefits. Monday–Friday, days, no rotating shifts.
