Assistant Controller / Director of Finance

An SNF back-office is seeking a strong accounting and finance leader to oversee its accounting function and help strengthen the systems, processes, and infrastructure supporting the business.
The level and scope of the role can be structured around the right candidate, ranging from a hands-on Assistant Controller to a more senior Director of Finance.
Responsibilities

Oversee the accounting function and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting

Lead the monthly close process and preparation of monthly financial statements

Oversee accounts payable and related controls and processes

Manage cash flow, cash reporting, and day-to-day cash management

Oversee cost reporting and support related submissions and requirements

Coordinate external audits and work closely with outside tax and accounting professionals

Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet activity

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting

Evaluate and implement systems and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy

Lead, develop, and hold the accounting team accountable
Requirements

Strong accounting and financial reporting experience

Healthcare experience required, with SNF experience strongly preferred

Experience leading an accounting team and overseeing core accounting functions

Strong understanding of monthly close, AP, cash management, audits, and financial controls

Ability to improve processes, implement systems, and bring greater structure to the department

Driven, high-energy, and hands-on, with strong leadership and communication skills

Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial and evolving environment
Salary : $150,000 - $275,000
