Responsibilities
- Assist lead painters with surface preparation, including sanding, scraping, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Mix paints and primers accurately using basic math skills to achieve desired color tones and consistency
- Handle hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, and caulking guns to support various painting tasks
- Support the application of paint using airless paint spraying equipment and power tools for efficient coverage
- Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, taping, masking, and protecting surrounding areas during renovation or restoration projects
- Assist with the installation of fixtures, trim carpentry, and other finishing touches like stucco or masonry work as needed
- Follow blueprints, schematics, or schematics to ensure precise application of paint on walls, ceilings, and architectural features
Skills
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating and blueprint reading to understand project scope
- Familiarity with residential and commercial painting techniques and materials
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying, and caulking for various surface treatments
- Understanding of color theory for effective color matching and aesthetic finishes
- Construction site experience including renovation, restoration, plastering, drywall finishing, masonry, framing, carpentry, and concrete finishing
- Ability to read schematics and construction drawings accurately
- Knowledge of industrial painting practices and fixture installation techniques
- Strong attention to detail with good hand-eye coordination; ability to work safely at heights or on scaffolding
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in construction painting
