Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders to ensure operational efficiency.
- Service heavy equipment including forklifts, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment by replacing worn parts, adjusting components, and troubleshooting issues.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational needs or repair requirements.
- Conduct alignment procedures, suspension repairs, tire service, brake repairs, and HVAC system maintenance to uphold safety standards.
- Utilize electrical diagnostics and soldering techniques for electrical system troubleshooting and repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities.
- Assist in heavy lifting operations and perform routine equipment inspections to prevent future breakdowns.
Skills
- Proven experience working with dealership service departments or heavy equipment servicing environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and OEM specifications for various machinery types.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and use of power tools for custom repairs or modifications.
- Experience with construction machinery maintenance such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems including electrical diagnostics and HVAC components.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation standards for safe handling during maintenance procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, working at heights or confined spaces as required by the job.
