Job Summary
We are a busy vacuum tank fabrication and truck shop looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. You’ll work hands-on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing trucks used in vacuum tank and industrial service applications. This is a skill-based role — we want someone who takes pride in quality work, works efficiently, and can diagnose and repair trucks with minimal supervision.
This position will handle diesel engine, drivetrain, brake, suspension, electrical, air, hydraulic, PTO, and related truck systems. We are looking for someone who is comfortable troubleshooting problems, completing repairs correctly, and keeping trucks safe, reliable, and ready for service.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, fluid services, and general repairs
- Troubleshoot engine, drivetrain, brake, suspension, steering, and 12V electrical systems
- Service and repair PTO, hydraulic, air, and auxiliary truck-mounted systems
- Identify worn or unsafe components and complete repairs to keep trucks reliable and road-ready
- Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed
- Maintain accurate work records and a clean, safe work area
Qualifications
- 3 years of diesel, heavy truck, fleet, or heavy equipment repair experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with diesel engines, air brakes, suspension, drivetrain, and 12V electrical systems
- Hydraulic and PTO experience preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to quality and safety
- Reliable, punctual, and able to operate shop tools and equipment safely
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
