Key Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership: Manage, train, and motivate a grading crew to ensure daily production goals are met safely and efficiently.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with the prep crew and project managers to sequence work and maintain the project schedule.
- Technical Oversight: Read and understand site plans to ensure precise grading, drainage, and compaction before asphalt application.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the proper use and daily maintenance of grading equipment (skid steers, graders, rollers, etc.).
- Safety First: Enforce all company safety protocols.
- Experience: Proven experience in sub-grade preparation, fine grading, and/or asphalt paving operations.
- Leadership: Prior experience in a supervisory or foreman role within the construction industry.
- Licensing: * Class A CDL is highly preferred.
- A valid Driver’s License is required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of soil types, compaction requirements, and grade-checking techniques.
- Stamina: Ability to work long hours outdoors and handle the physical demands of a busy construction site.
