Skills
- Ability to program, set up, and operate various CNC machining centers
- Proficiency with CNC programs, blueprints, and measuring tools
- Knowledge of shop math, trigonometry, and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- CNC programming experience with Mastercam is a plus.
- Manufacturing shop floor experience and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
- Experience with design/programming software like Mastercam and SolidWorks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Set up and operate a variety of CNC vertical/horizontal milling machines and lathes in a productive, quality, and safe manner.
- Familiarity with G and M programming codes, including minor program edits at the machine.
- Knowledge of correct speeds, feeds, work holding methods, cutting tools, materials, and shapes.
- Create machine programs to machine parts within tolerances as close as .0005”.
- Design, layout, and utilize jigs and fixtures as needed.
- Follow verbal and written instructions, sketches, and blueprints.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned, working independently with limited supervision.
- Provide operations with technical support and develop manufacturing process layouts.
- Conduct product development projects within designated cost, quality, and timelines.
- Improve machining efficiencies and sustain standard machining techniques.
- Develop manufacturing methods and work instructions for new products or equipment.
- Troubleshoot assembly/machining process/manufacturing problems.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following safety and environmental procedures.
