What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nanny position at Private Family?
Part-Time Nanny Needed - S Portland, near Lewis & Clark College
Our family is looking for a nurturing, experienced, reliable, and energetic nanny to care for our infant daughter (3 months old when care begins) and 3.5 year old boy.
Schedule: 2-3 days/week, 8am-4pm. (Flexible on specific days, e.g., Tue/Thu or Mon/Tue/Wed).
Pay: $25/hour, depending on experience
Location: We are located near Lewis & Clark college, about 5 minutes from downtown Lake Oswego and 5 minutes from Sellwood
Start Date: Anytime between mid-September to mid-October
About our family: We are a family of 7 with three school-age children, and two at home. My husband and I both work full time, and my schedule is hybrid office and work from home. Our school-age children leave around 7:30 and return around 3:45pm, so the nanny role would only include care for our infant and 3.5 year old.
The best fit nanny is someone who is reliable, nurturing, and engaging with our children, good at communication, and helps reinforce our parenting philosophy -- encouraging age-appropriate independence, authoritative and loving discipline, limited screen time, and active play.
An ideal candidate is also someone who can commit to a specific schedule and intends to stay with our family for at least 1-2 years.
We have a vehicle to provide transportation for any child-related outings and activities.
Duties include:
- Caring for an infant and a pre-school age child simultaneously
- Bottle feeding, reinforcing routines, prioritizing sleep and nap time for the infant
- Active play, reading, & spending lots of time outside
- Light, child-related housework: Kids laundry, meal prep for breakfast and lunch, dishes, keeping the kitchen and play areas tidy
Requirements:
- Prior professional nanny experience with infants and young children, and caring for multiple children simultaneously
- 2-3 references
- Driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Clean background check
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
To apply: If you love nurturing and caring for young children I'd love to hear from you!
Please respond with your resume and a brief note telling us about yourself and why you think you'd be a great fit. Include your experience, ideal schedule and start date.
