Manufacturing Technician II

Intermediate Mechanical & Electrical Assembly

As a Manufacturing Technician II, you are a skilled, hands-on builder with strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and a commitment to high-quality assembly standards. You play a key role on the production floor, assembling and troubleshooting vehicles, trailers, and related systems with precision and efficiency.

You approach your work with grit and versatility—adapting to changing production demands while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality protocols. Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment, you take ownership of your work, contribute to team success, and help drive continuous improvement.

This role is primarily based on the shop floor and involves exposure to moderate noise, moving equipment, and occasional chemicals or solvents. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform intermediate-level mechanical and electrical assembly on vehicles, trailers, and related components
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot systems such as wiring harnesses, control switches, and hydraulic components
  • Operate specialized tools and equipment (e.g., pneumatic tools, multimeters, diagnostic devices) with minimal supervision
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring schematics to ensure accurate assembly
  • Conduct in-process inspections, including torque verification, electrical continuity checks, and component alignment
  • Identify and resolve assembly issues; escalate complex problems as needed
  • Collaborate with Quality to address defects and perform basic root cause analysis
  • Contribute to process improvements, including workflow, station layout, and material handling
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen events)
  • Support cross-functional teams by providing feedback to Engineering (design for manufacturability) and Supply Chain (material discrepancies)
  • Train and mentor entry-level technicians, reinforcing standard work practices and safety compliance
  • Accurately document work performed in ERP or shop-floor systems

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly, preferably in vehicle or trailer manufacturing
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment
  • Working knowledge of quality standards, including torque specifications and electrical testing
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or related field
  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing data systems
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or ISO quality standards

Physical & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Regular use of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Exposure to shop conditions, including noise, moving machinery, and occasional chemicals/solvents
  • PPE required in designated areas

Schedule & Compensation

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday (4-hour shift, as needed)
  • Overtime: Available during peak production periods
  • Pay Range: $26.00 – $28.00/hour, based on experience

Salary : $26 - $28
