Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of concrete forms, rebar installation, and setting up site layouts according to blueprints and schematics.
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently to pour and distribute concrete.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing, troweling, and sealing surfaces to meet quality standards.
- Handle heavy lifting of materials and equipment necessary for concrete placement and site setup.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
- Support masonry work including stucco, plastering, tile laying, and other related finishes as needed.
- Assist with framing, metal stud framing, carpentry tasks like trim carpentry, and roofing preparations for renovation or new construction projects.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while operating hand tools, power tools, or heavy machinery on-site.
- Collaborate with team members on site to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to quality standards.
- Support restoration efforts by assisting with caulking, flooring installation, masonry repairs, or other finishing touches as required.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction tools and equipment operation.
- Construction estimating skills are a plus for understanding project scope and resource needs.
- Proficiency in rebar installation, concrete forming, and concrete finishing techniques.
- Experience with hardscape construction including paving stones or decorative concrete features.
- Ability to operate concrete mixers, pumps, power tools, heavy equipment, and commercial driving vehicles safely.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and understanding technical drawings.
- Knowledge of plastering, stucco application, tile laying, flooring installation, and masonry work.
- Familiarity with welding practices for structural repairs or custom installations.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking on construction sites.
- Experience with renovation projects involving frame carpentry or metal stud framing.
