Position Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced attorney to work with Veterans in obtaining Veterans Benefits. The attorney will handle Veterans discharge upgrades, housing issues, family matters, and other civil issues. This is an immediate opening.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrable awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the veteran populations we serve.
- Ability to manage a large caseload and function professionally in a highly stressful environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
- Willingness to work beyond a minimum seven-hour workday, including evenings and weekends.
Education & Experience
- Active membership in the Florida State Bar.
- Experience providing civil and administrative legal services to Veterans and their families.
- Ability to handle a variety of civil cases, including Veterans Benefits, Family Law issues, and Housing issues.
- Experience serving low-income communities preferred but not required.
Salary : $71,500 - $81,500
