What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatrist position at PrismHR?
Psychiatrist – Outpatient Private Practice
Location: Naperville, IL. (Hybrid)
Practice: Tailwinds Psychology, LLC
Base Annual Earnings Range: $300,000 - $365,000
About Us
We are a growing full-service private psychology practice serving individuals and families throughout the western suburbs of Chicago. Our mission is to provide responsive, high-quality, and evidence-based psychological and psychiatric care with a collaborative and values-driven approach. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate psychiatrist to join our team and grow with us.
Position Summary
We’re seeking a psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our expanding psychiatry team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, evidence-based medication management, collaborative oversight for psychiatric nursing staff, and consultation with psychotherapy and testing staff to ensure coordinated, whole-person care.
Hybrid work options and flexible scheduling available. No on-call availability required.
Professional Autonomy
Tailwinds respects and affirms the ability of fully licensed psychiatric providers to provide high-quality psychiatric services and treatment according to their training and style. That’s why we include a professional autonomy clause in each of our contracts in which we legally commit to NEVER micromanage our psychiatric providers’ approach to psychiatry, patient communication, or documentation.
No Non-Competes
At Tailwinds, we believe psychiatrists should control their careers, and patients should control their care. Contracts that force departing psychiatrists to practice beyond a certain “radius” restrict access to mental wellness for local patients who wish to continue to work with their psychiatrist, many of whom belong to protected patient populations such as veterans and first responders. When it comes to mental healthcare, non-compete clauses aren’t just unethical; they’re illegal and unenforceable under Illinois law.
Tailwinds prides itself on the value it creates for patients and isn’t afraid of healthy competition. That’s why we don’t include non-compete clauses in any of our contracts.
Compensation
At Tailwinds, we offer above-market starting compensation for full-time psychiatrists along with
comprehensive benefits. Compensation is based on tenure with the practice, and is either salaried or calculated per billable clinical hour (i.e., hours billed to the patient or insurance). Full-time psychiatrists are expected to maintain an average caseload of 35 patient hours per week according to a 60/30 service model(i.e., 60-minute intake appointments; 30-minute medication management/psychotherapy follow-up appointments). Full-time psychiatrists are eligible for benefits.
Compensation Structure
We offer either a salaried or performance-based compensation schedule with transparent growth tied to tenure.
Salaried base compensation schedule:
• Year 1: $300,000
• Year 2: $330,000
• Year 4 : $360,000
Performance-based compensation schedule:
• Year 1: 65% of revenue billed per billable hour
• Year 2: 70%
• Year 4 : 75%
Year 1 annual earnings range: $310,000–$365,000 (depending on caseload and payer mix)
Performance-based annual earnings range reflects conservative estimate of gross annual earnings for a psychiatrist with an average caseload of at least 35 patient hours per week according to a 60/30 service model.
Hiring Bonus
Tailwinds recognizes the strong demand for psychiatric services in private practice mental healthcare. All newly-hired psychiatrists are eligible to receive a $50,000 non-refundable new-hire bonus.
At Tailwinds, we respect and defend the legal right of patients to choose their mental healthcare provider, including the decision to follow their psychiatrist to a new practice. All new psychiatrists who bring a caseload with them are eligible to receive a one-time bonus of $50 per established patient.
