The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing all on-site electrical activities for commercial and industrial projects. This role oversees field crews, ensures code compliance, maintains safety standards, manages schedules, and supports cost control measures. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem solver with a deep understanding of electrical systems and field operations.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Supervise electricians, foremen, and subcontractors across active job sites.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, company standards, and all electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols to maintain a zero-injury environment.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and drawings; resolve installation discrepancies.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and scheduling to meet project milestones.
- Manage materials delivery, inventory, and job-site logistics.
- Participate in job walks, pre-construction, and planning meetings.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager on progress updates, scheduling, and budget tracking.
- Maintain detailed documentation including work logs, inspections, incident reports, and change orders.
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues in real time.
- Mentor and train field crews to promote growth, quality, and safe work practices.

- Proficient in temporary power systems, conduit installation, cable tray systems, grounding, and equipment terminations.
🎓 Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical coursework preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Journeyman Electrician License (or reciprocity eligible).
- Minimum 5 years of electrical field supervision in commercial/industrial environments.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other electrical safety codes.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, electrical drawings, and schematic diagrams.
