Job Summary: The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum stabilization. This role supports safe maternal and neonatal outcomes through focused assessment, monitoring, and collaboration with the obstetric care team.
Responsibilities
Provide intrapartum nursing care including maternal and fetal monitoring.
Assist with labor management, deliveries, and obstetric emergencies.
Administer medications and treatments according to obstetric protocols.
Support immediate postpartum care and newborn stabilization as needed.
Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, pediatrics, and interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience Required
Magnesium sulfate experience Required and must be clearly listed on resume
Ability to float to Postpartum when needed Required
Must be comfortable providing newborn care
Minimum 2 Years Of Overall RN Experience
EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
Certifications
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Required
License: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required
