Job Summary

Essential Functions

- Selects, trains/orients, assigns department staff, evaluates performance, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions. Adheres to Prisma Health policy in disciplining/terminating employees. Ensures the appropriate utilization of the Prisma Health progressive discipline policy for employees with performance, behavior, or attendance problems.
- Plans and manages the day-to-day operations, procedures and processes required to meet established goals and objectives.
- Interacts and communicates with co-workers and customers of the department for problem solving and achieving established goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates excellent rapport and the ability to encourage open communication with staff and resolve interdepartmental problems and conflicts.
- Responsible for meeting financial targets, FTE budgets and other assigned operational expectations for Material Services.
- Conducts staff meetings at least monthly providing updates and communication striving to maintain a high level of employee satisfaction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This is a supervisor job which may have direct supervision of team members which may include hire/termination authority, disciplinary authority, and performance management responsibilities. May have budget input or responsibilities. Job is not considered a member of management staff.
- Education - High School diploma or equivalent. Post High School education of one year to 18 months in an accredited program preferred/
- Experience - Three (3) years material / supply experience. One (1) year healthcare materials experience. Supervisory experience preferred
- Five (5) years of materials/supply experience may be substituted for the experience requirement noted above.

- Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database)
