Directly supports production by performing; trouble shooting, recovery, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on existing automation assembly work cells, to include programming improvements. Responsible for electrical and/or mechanical equipment and systems. Ensures all equipment is operating safely (following OSHA guidelines) and within manufacture's standards. Performs preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation of all plant automation systems. Provides technical support and training to the operational and maintenance team members on automation systems equipment. Serves as the technical expert related plant operational automation problems. Works under general supervision of the plant Operations Manager and follows established guidelines to work on the full range of repairs and future installations. In addition to managing the automation equipment activities in support of production, duties for this position included but are not limited to the following: -Assist in identifying automation and manufacturing equipment suppliers and resources. -Develop and Maintain equipment standards for design, components, controls, signals & documentation. -Assist Development Engineering in identifying equipment solutions for quote opportunities. -Obtain equipment and implementation pricing as needed for quote opportunities. -Assist with the development of Scope of Work documentation to be followed for new equipment projects. -Assist plant and engineering resources to manage equipment projects through commissioning. -Deeply involved in the proper commissioning, startup and approval of new automation equipment. -Assist with the development of proper documentation and training of new automation equipment. Provides technical support and training to the operational and maintenance team members on automation systems equipment. Serves as the technical expert related plant operational automation problems. Works under general supervision of the plant Operations Manager and follows established guidelines to work on the full range of repairs and future installations. The person at this level is fully competent in the skills and knowledge of the products being serviced and/or the testing and calibration equipment being used. Candidate MUST be well versed in FANUC, Mitsubishi Industrial MELFA Robots and integrated Keyence vision systems. This team member will also be deeply involved with training and mentoring lower-level maintenance technicians and operations team members. Deeply involved with continuous improvement and lean projects. Typically requires 2-4 years of formal technical training beyond high school and 7-8 years of related technical automation and programming experience. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. This is a hands-on role.
