Position Description

The Director of Technology is a senior leadership role responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and execution of all technology initiatives across the organization. This position oversees system architecture, IT operations, cybersecurity, data management, software development, and technology innovation. The Director of Technology ensures that technology investments support organizational goals, improve operational efficiency, and drive sustainable growth.

Essential Responsibilities And Duties

• Develop and execute the organization's long-term technology strategy.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders of the organization to determine technological needs of the business.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance competitiveness, scalability, and efficiency.
• Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on all technology-related matters and digital transformation opportunities.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, business systems, and software applications.
• Lead technology projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication to end-users and key stakeholders.
• Establish and manage technology standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
• Develop and enforce robust cybersecurity strategies to protect organizational systems, data, and patient information.
• Lead regular risk assessments, vulnerability management, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.
• Ensure full compliance with federal and state health care regulations.
• Build, mentor, and manage a team of technology and database professionals responsible for the internal support, security, and maintenance functions.
• Establish performance objectives and professional development pathways for staff.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee technology procurement and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and performance management.
• Manage all financial aspects of the department, including purchasing and budgeting, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost optimization. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety and compliance, and report any concerns of non-compliance in any area to your manager immediately.

Education/Experience/Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
• 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in relevant professional experience
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, and modern development frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications, network and PC operating systems
• Extensive application support experience
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
• Must possess an enthusiasm for identifying and implementing process improvements
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to resolve disputes effectively
• Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
• Outstanding independent decision-making, analysis and problem-solving skills
• Understand, interpret, and act on financial information that contributes to business profitability
• Ability to plan and manage complex and successful projects; understand available resources, develop timeline, budget, and assign areas of responsibility
• Lead teams to achieve company goals and solve complex business issues in creative and effective ways
• Communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders
• Ability to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities, manage conflict, and navigate politics
  
  

Preferred Education/Experience/Knowledge

• Master's degree preferred
• Experience working in a matrixed corporate environment
• Experience working in digital health, health tech, medical software, or related regulated environments
• Medical/Healthcare industry background
  
  

Physical Requirements

• In an 8 hour day the employee infrequently lifts/carries 15 lbs or less.
• In an 8 hour day the employee stands/walks for less than 3 hours.

Percentage of travel expected to be 10% or less on an annual basis
