The Director of Technology ensures that technology investments support organizational goals, improve operational efficiency, and drive sustainable growth.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
- Develop and execute the organization's long-term technology strategy.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders of the organization to determine technological needs of the business.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance competitiveness, scalability, and efficiency.
- Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on all technology-related matters and digital transformation opportunities.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, business systems, and software applications.
- Lead technology projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication to end-users and key stakeholders.
- Establish and manage technology standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Develop and enforce robust cybersecurity strategies to protect organizational systems, data, and patient information.
- Lead regular risk assessments, vulnerability management, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.
- Ensure full compliance with federal and state health care regulations.
- Build, mentor, and manage a team of technology and database professionals responsible for the internal support, security, and maintenance functions.
- Establish performance objectives and professional development pathways for staff.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee technology procurement and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and performance management.
- Manage all financial aspects of the department, including purchasing and budgeting, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost optimization. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety and compliance, and report any concerns of non-compliance in any area to your manager immediately.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the Vice President
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in relevant professional experience
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, and modern development frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications, network and PC operating systems
- Extensive application support experience
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Must possess an enthusiasm for identifying and implementing process improvements
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to resolve disputes effectively
- Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
- Outstanding independent decision-making, analysis and problem-solving skills
- Understand, interpret, and act on financial information that contributes to business profitability
- Ability to plan and manage complex and successful projects; understand available resources, develop timeline, budget, and assign areas of responsibility
- Lead teams to achieve company goals and solve complex business issues in creative and effective ways
- Communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders
- Ability to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities, manage conflict, and navigate politics
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience working in a matrixed corporate environment
- Experience working in digital health, health tech, medical software, or related regulated environments
- Medical/Healthcare industry background
